What do you need to start?
Provide the legal company name, country, known aliases, product and target dates. An address or registration identifier, if available, helps separate similarly named entities. Company-level records may be unavailable for some markets.
A practical supplier research workflow
- Match the importing entity. Review consignee names and addresses. A freight forwarder, affiliate or distributor can appear instead of the purchasing company.
- Filter the product. Combine the appropriate HS classification with goods descriptions and specifications.
- Review the recorded shippers. Group spelling variants, check shipment frequency and dates, and keep the source record available for review.
- Assess each relationship. A shipper may be a manufacturer, distributor, intermediary or related company. Use additional company research to establish that role.
- Qualify the next action. Procurement scale and a recorded relationship do not establish current willingness to switch supplier.
Example: supplier concentration in Indonesia battery records
The existing GOTION supplier screen shows two Liuzhou GOTION entities at 47.78% and 43.02% of the selected HS 850760 value. The repeated group names prompt an ownership check; the screenshot alone does not prove the legal relationship or make the importer a qualified sales lead.
What shipment history cannot establish
It is not a complete supplier register: domestic purchases, other transport modes, missing records or undisclosed relationships may not appear. It does not replace ownership, credit, certification or current procurement checks.
What to include in your enquiry
“I need supplier research for [company] in [country], covering [product] and [dates], with consignee, shipper and shipment fields.” We confirm available sources before discussing the sample and delivery format.
